Standardisation Of Logistics Needs Assessments Templates
For
Use In Emergencies
The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK), through their Humanitarian and Emergency Logistics Professionals (HELP) forum, have identified creating a unified Logistics Response Assessment Template as a top priority due to the wide range of Logistics Assessments currently in use and the duplication of effort that has been reported in the field. This project is working in collaboration with the UNJLC's Spatial Data Infrastructure programme
This project has a simple methodology which includes the review by practitioners of current examples of needs assessment templates, with the aim of combining the positive aspects into a standardised template. The practitioner review has three distinct aspects.
- Rankings
- Multiple Choice Survey (10 questions)
- Narrative Questionnaire (6 questions)
Practitioners interested in participating in the review process are asked to complete as many (or as few) of these aspects as they are able. This takes into account peoples various work loads and is to ensure that the review process collects the opinions of as wide a range of practitioners as possible.
The practitioner review process is conducted through the internet via three online forms, but no personal information is collected and there is no registration required.
To participate in this review process, please click on one of the three numbered links above.
The results of this research and the first draft of a standardised template will be available by November 2007 from the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport's HELP Forum
